5 Things You Should Bring to a Music Festival

There's nothing like the rush of attending a music festival and hearing your favorite artist live, surrounded by thousands of other eager fans. The energy is electric and contagious; I’ve been there - in the crowds of FYF Fest watching the Growlers for the first time my junior year of high school, the crowds of EDC Las Vegas watching the lights and lasers zip around to the Subtronics B2B with John Summit DJ sets, in the crowds of Outside Lands watching my all-time favorite band, Radiohead, play my favorite song and it bringing me to tears - I’ve been there.

The mix of people and genres always makes for a good time discovering new friends and tunes. With all that excitement, it's important to come prepared with a couple of things you may not think you’ll need while attending any music festival but will thank me later. I promise.

1. Bandannas

Not only can they be stylish, but they can also serve as a mask.

Many venues have stages and sections that lack grass, where the dirt can become a cloud of dust as festivalgoers dance and walk around. This could be fun until you start blowing different shades of black and brown snot into your tissues and have your allergies acting up.

Weather can also be unpredictable and you never know when you could use something to keep your face and neck warm.

2. Individually Wrapped Kleenex Wet Wipes

Wet wipes are a great thing to bring into festivals for many reasons. You can use them to:

  • clean your hands when sinks are far away or out of supplies

  • to cool yourself on a hot day and wipe away the sweat

  • to use as an alternative to napkins when eating

  • to use in the restroom in case they run out of toilet paper - it happens!

3. Travel-Sized Deodorant

With all the hours of dancing, you're bound to break a sweat and maybe get a little stinky. Do yourself and everyone a favor and bring one in!

4. Portable Power Bank

Many times, we think that starting an event with a full battery will get us through the night, but we unfortunately end up learning the hard way. There can be unexpected turns that lead us to need and conserve the life of the battery we have left in our devices. We all know and have that one friend (if it is not you) that goes on their own adventure and their phone dies somewhere along the way. Bringing a charged portable battery bank will save you from a panic!

5. Earplugs

The music can get loud! TRUST me when I tell you that you need to invest in your hearing - or whats left of fit. Especially if you are someone like me who has been going to concerts and music festivals for years, and also regularly listens to music loudly. Not only will earplugs preserve your hearing in the long run, but they will also prevent that annoying ringing in your ears you get when you get home.

Try Eargasm earplugs! They are:

  • small, discrete, and comfortable to wear for prolonged periods

  • great at keeping noise levels to a minimum, but, still allow you to hear people talking and hear music with clarity

  • come with a cool little lightweight aluminum case for easy transportation

  • they come with an extra pair

  • a personal favorite

With all that being said, remember to bring these five items to your next event so you can enjoy yourself without struggling over the small avoidable mishaps, and most importantly, have a fun and make memories that will last a lifetime!
